There are more options than ever before for selling luxury timepieces. You can choose from famous online auction sites, specialist watch resellers, pawn shops, real world auctions and more. Choice can be paralysing; that’s why we’ve made it as simple as possible to sell your watch through MoneyForWatches.co.uk.
The process starts when you contact us, either through our online contact form or by calling us at 0161 971 1936. All you have to do is tell you what model of watch you want to sell, detail its condition (ideally with pictures), and let us know whether it has its box and papers.
We endeavour to reply to every inquiry within 24 hours with an offer. This offer is based on your description. Our experts use their knowledge of watches and brands to closely evaluate your watch so that they can provide the best possible price.
If for whatever reason you are unhappy with the offer or with the service you receive, don’t worry. All of our offers are no-obligation, meaning that you don’t have to accept them if you don’t want to. You’re therefore free to shop around as suits you.
If you are happy, reply to our offer and we can arrange collection on a date, at a time and in a place that suits you. Alternatively, consider sending the watch to us or bringing it directly to one of our offices.
We guarantee that if we collect your timepiece in person, we will arrange payment before completing the transaction. This can be done either with cash or through bank transfer.
All Audemars Piguet watches are highly valued timepieces. But because of one factor or another, yours may have lost value, or even gained value.
The only way to determine the true value of your watch is to talk to one of our representatives. They will assess the amount your watch is worth by reference to the following factors:
The model of the watch. Audemars Piguet, like all watch manufacturers, produce both high-end and entry-level timepieces. While an entry-level watch is still a luxury watch, it will necessarily be valued at a lower price point whether new or resold.
The condition of your Audemars Piguet watch. A watch that is never worn will have fewer scratches and dents than one which is worn every day. The worse the condition, the less it will cost. A low-condition watch is still far from valueless, however, and is still worth selling.
Whether your Audemars Piguet still has its original box and papers. The papers that a luxury watch comes with certify it; in other words, they ensure that the watch is authentic and not a fake. A watch without papers is therefore worth less. Whereas other watch resellers refuse to buy luxury watches without their papers, we may be able to help.
Whether your Audemars Piguet was part of a limited run. The fewer watches of a certain model there are, the more valuable each watch will be. The more watches of a certain model were made, the more each watch will have devalued. Certain Royal Oak models are good examples.
If you would like to discuss the value of your watch in depth, call us at 0161 971 1936.
At MoneyForWatches.co.uk, we pride ourselves on our level of service. It’s for that reason that we have a 4.9/5 ‘Excellent’ rating on TrustPilot. We deliver first class service befitting the transaction of an asset like a luxury timepiece.
Beyond that, we have made the process of selling your watch far easier than it is by other means. All you have to do is send us a brief message detailing the condition and model of your watch, and ideally a photo; we do the rest. That means no hanging around waiting for buyers to contact you, no replying to vaguely interested buyers who ask you to knock down the price, and no auction fees.
It may also be possible for us to buy your watch despite poor condition, or if it has lost its box and/or papers. Not all watch resellers do this. If this is the case, contact us to see if we can work with you.
Audemars Piguet are a luxury watchmaking brand founded in 1875, headquartered in Le Brassus, Switzerland. Their focus on high-end timepieces means that despite producing only 40,000 watches and clocks per year, they bring in over a billion Swiss Francs per year in revenue.
Audemars Piguet have courted fame through being the first brand to pioneer several innovations. One of the company’s early achievements, for example, was to create the world’s first minute-repeating movements for a wristwatch in 1892. They created the first skeleton watch in 1934, and are further known for their ultra-thin models like the 1986 Calibre 2870.
Like other watchmakers, Audemars Piguet produce many different kinds of watch. Some are automatic, meaning that the natural movement of the wearer is enough to wind the watch; it therefore never has to be manually wound. Some Audemars Piguet watches plain dials, while others have tourbillons—the small round sections that look like a dial within a dial.
How your Audemars Piguet watch works therefore depends on the model and when it was made. It also doesn’t have an effect on the overall value of your watch, at least not in the same way that model and condition do.
By far the best known Audemars Piguet models are those in the Royal Oak line. This line was first produced in 1972, and helped the brand achieve worldwide fame alongside better-known companies like Rolex and Patek Philippe. It was first presented at Baselworld, a trade show for the watchmaking profession. It was inspired by diving helmet design, hence the exposed screw heads and integrated bracelet.
Other popular Audemars Piguet models include the Millenary, Jules Audemars and Code 11.59.
